A discussion paper about a key element of the state’s new planning system, which focuses on planning’s relationship with South Australia’s economy, is now out for consultation.

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) is seeking feedback from the planning community and the public on the Productive Economy Policy Discussion Paper.

The Economy paper sets out a proposed approach for better development policy and practices in crucial areas, including themes such as utilisation of industrial land, management of metropolitan growth and centres policy and investment in the retail sector.

There is also a brief summary available, along with more detailed background papers, which have been produced with significant input and specialist advice from SGS Economics & Planning and Deloitte Access Economics.

You are invited to respond to the issues the paper raises via the Have your Say page on the SA Planning Portal. Leave a comment in the online discussion, complete a short survey or poll, or send individual submissions by email or post by Friday 22 February 2019.
