On 1 August 2017, the State Planning Commission (the Commission) assumed the functions of the Development Policy Advisory Committee (DPAC). Therefore any functions previously performed by the DPAC are now the responsibility of the Commission.
For practical purposes this means that if a hearing is necessary on any of the matters previously considered by the former DPAC, the Commission will appoint a Hearing Panel, as and when required to deal with the matter.
The Commission has to date appointed Hearing Panels to deal with several DPAs including heritage matters. These Hearing Panels have comprised both Commission members and Panelists with expertise in relevant disciplines.
